It was a land where bad metaphors stalked, like baby snatching foxes….a ravaged land, where uninspired discourse mingled with unloved morsels, a land desolated by inconsequential art shows, like a stomach stripped raw by cheap wine.
And then salvation came! It was as if the land, in its desperation for relief, grew legs and transported itself to a great plateau, high above the tumultuous sea of Hackney Wick….and it was here the rains came (metaphorically, you understand)…a fantastic deluge formed a mighty
torrent, engorging the forsaken cranial gorges, englutting the barren guts… exactly the way most events that combine food and art wouldn’t!
On the 30th July, as part of the Hackney Wicked Art Festival, the combined talents of Cosmicmegabrain (itinerant curators) and the Sit Down Affair (itinerant restauranteurs) will harmonise in an unparalleled event.
By integrating two detached pursuits, the pleasures of feasting and encounters with art, we intend to amplify the joy and stimulation of both. Come, all who hunger for sustenance of real substance, for your mind and your stomach and every parched bit of your soul!
The event will take place on the capacious terrace on the 2nd floor, east wing of Oslo House, situated in the heart of Hackney Wick, overlooking the throng of the festival-goers. Now in its third year, the Hackney Wick Art Festival is set to be more popular than ever – this event is guaranteed to be one of the highlights.

The Sit Down Affair came from our mutual obsession with cooking and eating good beautiful food. Us ladies have had many nights partying, drinking, loving and talking with our mouths full so we decided to spread the goodness. We get loads of people together, we cook and serve
amazing dishes with killer music to make The Sit Down Affair the Baddest Dinner Feast Party you'll ever find.
